Markets

The Loire Valley is a region teeming with markets of all shapes and flavours.  A trip to a local market is a must to sample the fresh produce and taking a leisurely stroll around the stalls selling their delectable foods, delicacies and sweet smelling flowers.

Loches holds a fantastic ‘Moonlight Market’ on the second Thursday of July and August from 5pm until midnight. Items on offer include farm produce, crafts, cakes, honey and cheeses, all accompanied by street entertainment and music to provide an unforgettable atmosphere.

A similar affair takes place in the towns of Azay-le-Rideau, Bourgueil and Langeais on selected Friday or Saturday evenings during the summer months.

Markets are held throughout the region everyday of the week.

Sunday: Montsoreau, Saumur, Chinon and Langeais 

Monday:  Candé, Doué-la-Fontaine, Richelieu (every second Monday, every Friday)

Tuesday: Bourgueil

Wednesday:Angers, Saumur and Loches and Azay-les-Rideau

Thursday:  Saumur smd Chinon

Friday:       Saumur

Saturday:  Saumur, Bourgueil, Chinon, Loches and Candes-Saint-Martin
